It's so hard to be optimistic when everything around sucks.  I'm so glad I have such wonderful friends reaching out to me.  Psh.   Thanks to those of you who are there for me, and those that aren't yeah this is about you.

Derek's finally in Iraq.  He's at a place that's pretty decent so let's keep our fingers crossed.  I think things will be alright over there for him.  Of course it still sucks, but I think time is starting to go by quicker now.  Anyway, keep him and his buddies in your thoughts and prayers please.

Derek is safe in Kuwait for now.  He'll be there for a bit before they send him to Iraq.  This sucks!

Derek leaves for Kuwait on Friday May 11.  Not sure what time yet.  I guess I'll write again when he's in Baghdad.
